The Privacy Constitution
Data Sovereignty. Zero Surveillance. Total Auditability.
01. Our Core Directive
Unlike the platforms we audit, The Social Media Republic does not monetize your identity. We are a Community Interest Company (CIC). Our asset lock legally prevents us from selling your personal data to advertisers, brokers, or foreign states.
02. The "Verify and Vaporize" Protocol
To give your vote legal weight, we must verify you are a real human and a resident of the UK. We use a "Zero-Knowledge" verification process:
- We Ask: We redirect you to your trusted provider (Bank ID / Gov ID).
- We Receive: A cryptographic token stating "Yes, Over 18, UK Resident."
- We Delete: Once your vote is cast to the public ledger, the connection to your personal ID is severed. We do not store your name, address, or bank details on our servers.
03. Public Consensus vs. Private Conscience
Your Vote is Public: To serve as evidence to Parliament, the fact that a vote was cast is recorded on an immutable public ledger (TallySticks protocol). This ensures the Government cannot deny the numbers.
Your Identity is Private: The ledger records what was voted, not who voted. Mathematical proofs link the vote to a "Verified Human" without revealing which human it was.
04. The "Anti-Tracker" Promise
We do not use the "Facebook Pixel." We do not use Google Analytics. We do not use cross-site tracking cookies.
We use only essential session cookies required to secure the voting booth for the duration of your visit. Once you leave, you leave no digital footprint behind.
05. Your Rights (UK GDPR)
Under the Data Protection Act 2018, you have the right to:
- Right to Erasure: Since we hold minimal data, "erasure" happens automatically after your session for most guest users.
- Right to Object: You may opt-out of verification at any time (though this downgrades your vote from "Evidence" to "Opinion").
